However, in Massachusetts, we are officially designated as a Mental Health Clinic, and we adhere to the guidelines and standards set by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. We use the terms intensive outpatient program (IOP) and partial hospitalization program (PHP) because it is widely recognized by insurance companies and individuals seeking Mental Health Clinic services in Massachusetts.
